Easy Ways to Relieve Psoriasis Pain

Use Soothing Bath Products

While many prefer showers to tub baths, soaking for at least 15 minutes in a slightly warm tub with oatmeal or organic oils can help. The soothing water with oatmeal or oil helps soften the skin and adds much needed moisture to dry, scaly areas. 

Moisturize with Oils

Make a diluted solution and keep the mixture in a spray bottle in the refrigerator. Spritz onto affected areas as desired for cooling, soothing relief. 

Desensitize with Pepper

Capsaicin in cayenne pepper gives the spice its distinctive heat. It is also an ingredient in creams, ointments and transdermal patches due to the chemical compound’s ability to prevent nerve cell transmissions in relation to muscular pain. Capsaicin-containing products can also be lightly applied to psoriasis-affected areas to alleviate discomfort. 

Add Epsom Salt to Bath Water

A solution of Epsom salts and water is commonly used to relieve the inflammation and discomfort caused by minor burns and muscle aches. Add Epsom salts to bath water or mix two tablespoons in a cup of water. The solution might also be cooled and spritzed onto skin or applied as a cool, moist compress.
